Private Pilot Licence Requirements

To qualify for your PPL, you must:

✅ Be at least 17 years old.

✅ Hold a Class 2 or higher aviation medical certificate.

✅ Complete a minimum of 50 flight hours, including solo and cross-country navigation training.

✅ Pass the Private Pilot Licence theory exam and flight test with a CASA-approved examiner.

Course Structure

Our training program is designed to provide a structured learning path:

Phase 1: Basic Flight Training

  • Learn fundamental helicopter controls and manoeuvres.

  • Develop skills in take-off, landing, and emergency procedures.

Phase 2: Solo Flight Training

  • Build confidence flying solo under instructor supervision.

  • Improve navigation and decision-making skills.

Phase 3: Cross-Country Flying

  • Plan and execute longer flights to different locations.

  • Gain real-world navigation and airspace management experience.

Phase 4: Flight Test Preparation & Licensing

  • Refine advanced flight techniques and emergency procedures.

  • Undertake your final check flight with a CASA examiner.

How Long Does it Take?

  • Training duration depends on your availability and learning pace. Full-time students may complete their PPL in 3-6 months, while part-time students can progress at their own speed. We offer flexible scheduling to suit your lifestyle.
